When the Angels ride in.
Thu 2nd October, 4.01pm
I write in the middle of one of the most amazing weeks of my life. For the last four nights in a row I have been ministering in a 1700 seat big tent in the middle of a field in Latimer, UK. Large crowds have turned up every night to sing God’s praises in the most inspirational and anointed worship imaginable – led by Roy Fields (who was the main worship leader at the Lakeland Outpouring in Florida). We have seen many make a response to the call to salvation, to recommitment to Jesus, and a greater pursuit of God’s presence. On one night alone 58 people made a response to the invitation to get right with God. And there have been some extraordinary testimonies of answered prayer, of people coming to Christ, and of healing too.
So why are we meeting in a big tent, in October, when it’s cold!?
The answer is because this summer one of the workers on the farm land at Latimer had the most striking of visions, of an army of angels on horseback crossing the pontoon bridge behind him, in ranks of two, fully armed. They were carrying banners saying the one word GLORY. There was a clear word from the Lord that the angels had taken residence in the field and were preparing for something. One phrase that struck me was this – the armies of heaven are restless.
So the amazing people who run the Restore Hope Charity at Latimer decided to buy a big tent, 2000 chairs, and write to the leaders of over 30 leaders. In five days, representatives from churches of many different denominations came together to say YES to the invitation to come and gather at the big tent. In five days, more was done to unite the local churches in this area than in the last five years. People volunteered for the ministry team, car parking duties, intercession and many other churches. What would normally take 18 months to get ready was achieved in under six weeks. Truly, the people are willing in the day of God’s power (Psalm 110.3).
Now, four nights in, I can safely say that we are in the most extraordinary days. The presence of God is increasing as God’s people meet to worship and pray. People are being saved, healed and set free. The intercession of the saints is going up to heaven and extraordinary answers to prayer are being reported. The churches are uniting as never before (32 so far!). The Father is pouring out his power upon his church for greater boldness in witnessing (Acts 1.8). And most importantly of all, JESUS IS BEING MADE FAMOUS in Latimer.
